Brake lights on my new 17 Seneca will not go off

Any ideas on what to look for to solve the problem?

Have you checked the relay or the switch? The relay, is probably under the hood in the fuse box. The switch, not a clue where it would be located, but I would look around the peddle assembly, probably way up high.

Being a new MH, I might recommend calling the number for the 1 year commentary road side service number. Otherwise, try calling a Truck shop in your area.

Do they even HAVE those any more?

Brand new machine: Call for warrentee service.

Could be anything:
- Faulty relay
- Shorted wiring
- Faulty switch
- Mismounted or maladjusted switch
- Malfunctioning ABS/TC controller
- Insufficient load from LED lamps against a lamp controller expecting incandescent bulbs
- Bad ground
- They actually do go off 2 minutes after you close the last door.
- The ATS for the genset has a loose connection
- The wing-nut is left-handed

Let us know if they tell you what fixed it.

Air brakes? Switch probably not on pedal, in air line near or in treadle valve?

Brake switch is located above the steering column basically right behind the instrument cluster. It's a pressure switch with an air line running to it. If you are under warranty, have freightliner take care of it.

problem solved

Took the Seneca to the Freightliner dealer and it took them 10 minutes to figure out what the problem was. Not only were the brake lights stuck in the on position, the cruise control and exhaust brake did not work.
Jayco decided to place the fuse / relay box under the driver seats with out tying it down. Therefore it came into contact with the frame of the seat and shorted out a fuse they called a bolt down fuse. Never seen anything that looked like this before and was not visible by taking off the front cover. As mentioned in other threads that fuse box is loose under the driver seat and needs to be tied down. The wires coming into the box or exposed so be careful.
