The stay and play brake controller gets installed in the Honda and works as a brake controller by maintaining a connection to the motor home. If it shoukd brake away the brake immediately ya applied I. The Honda whether or not the motorhome is still attached

We use the Demco Commander for our 2018 Chevy Equinox pulled by our 2018 Greyhawk 29MV. The brake system for the Equinox is from RVi.

The RVI brake system is based on momentive sensors similar to what is in cell phones, these systems are independent of the motor home thus the set up doesn't require anything from the motorhome wiring.

The first set up requires a little time as you have to run the breakaway cable from the front of the vehicle into the floorboard area on the drivers side. Locate or install always powered 12 v cigarette style outlet and figure out how to place the transmission into neutral.

Once the initial set up is done you place the unit on the floor board, attach the brake pedal arm, plug in and press set up button three times, finally plug in the breakaway plug and you are done with the brake system.

The new model has a tablet that you can mount on your dash and monitor the braking performance as you drive. You can also press the test button to determine if the unit is set correctly.

We use a "Roadmaster 9700 Portable Braking System" for 3 years on 2 separate vehicles, interchangeably. Nothing permanent, on either vehicle, has had to be altered or changed.
