Bumper and slinky storage

So our stinky slinky fits well into the bumper compartment until it hits these two little notches.

They seem to be just overflows from the weld and I was thinking of tapping a file to a 2x4 and trying to grind them down. Does anyone know if there is an issue with this? They don't seem to be structurally important but then again, I've been wrong before.

I got so feed up with hose sticking on something I installed 5” plastic fence post on top of existing bumper. Never saw the weld over flows inside. I think it will be hard for you to get them smooth. Good luck

Enjoy the journey

We picked up a 2021 24T a couple of months ago. Found the same weld overflow on the inside bottom of the bumper. I drilled out the weld from the bottom using a 1/2 in. drill bit and it cleaned up pretty well. Now the hose slides through there without getting stuck.

Definitely a weld bead that burned a hole in your tube. See all the weld splatter on the opposite side? That’s all going to be hard to remove. Sorry don’t have a solution for you. Maybe attach a Dremel with a grinding stone or sanding drum to a 2x4 and try to reach it that way. I’ve also seen threaded chimney cleaning rods that maybe you could attach a sanding drum or small grinding wheel to a drill motor.

I was actually able to get it down by taping a file on to a 2x4 and giving it a little elbow grease.
