Cable in a greyhawk

Hi,

I can’t seem to figure out the cable hook up in my 2020 Jayco greyhawk. I hook it up from the outside at campgrounds that have cable but can’t seem to get the rv to pick it up. Do I need another cable inside the rv? I thought the tv came cable ready.

It should be good to go wiring wise.

Common mistake: turn off the antenna booster before you do a channel search on your TV.

Antenna booster in my rig is in the cabinet above the door. It will look like a 12V cigarette lighter socket wall plate. It will have a really small plunger button on the face, and a little light indicator. When you find the socket, if there's a light illuminated on it, the booster is on and you need to turn it off before it will pass cable signal from the pedestal to your TV.

Once you turn off the booster, you'll need to go into your channel settings on your TV(s) and do a channel search with "cable" as the source.

Welcome to the site from SW Michigan!

Happy trails, with cable! Hope that works for ya. We found that there was something we had to do with our tv to see the cable channels, vs. the on-air channels. But today, I just did an auto channel search and it worked. Good luck!

what camper bob said - do that first.

if you still have trouble, know that others have found that the wiring in their rigs have had problems.

One sure fire test is to take 25' of that RG6 cable and connect the cable/antenna outlet on the TV directly to the campground.

Futz with the settings until you get that to work. Then you know the TV is all set. After that you can reconnect it up to the outside jack on the RV and see if it still works.

What Greyhawk model do you have? In my 29MV, the cable connection is in the same compartment as the shore power cord.
