Canvas wheel covers

Ordered in error but wonder if anyone has used them in place of vinyl covers?? THE ONLY ADVANTAGE IS THAT THEY CAN BE MACHINE WASHED.

Have never used canvas covers, but IMHO, any cover that'll keep out UV rays, and stay put in the wind, (or can be made to), will be just as good as the vinyl ones. I've even seen people stick plywood in front of the wheels. It all works the same.

I have never seen canvass wheel covers. I live in AZ where the sun and UV are very tough on vinyl, making it discolored, stiff and brittle after a while. Plus in the cold weather, they get so stiff and hard to work with. I would much rather have them made of canvas. They would be much easier to work with, plus they will last much longer.

you can order them thru WALMART. MY ONLY CONCERN IS THEY WILL ABSORB RAIN AND KEEP MOISTURE AGAINST THE WHEELS, RUST. SNOWING HERE ABOUT 5 TO 8 INCHES.

I had these for a while, got them from Harbor Freight. They worked fine. but only lasted about two years due to dry rot.

Yes, that can be a concern depending on where you live. In AZ the air is so dry, it would not be a problem. The more I think about it though, I would worry more about the sun and UV rotting the canvas prematurely, just as bad as it does the vinyl ones.

All and all, aren't you using a disposable product to keep another product from being exposed to the Sun, prematurely? I don't think it will really matter. Use them until they rot, blow away or crumble and buy the same again or different ones, depending on the results. The ones you get will work just fine, for now.
