Carefree Awning popped Off

Today while my awning was retracting the awning tube popped off the arm assembly. I was able to get it retracted but one arm is still out. Unfortunately I'm leaving on Thursday and not sure how to fix. Any suggestions. This is my first trip so learning as I go. Thanks for any help!

Can you post some pictures? It may help get you a solution if we can see what actually happened.

If this is a Carefree Travel'r, there is a maintenance manual for it hosted on this site under "Manuals" (clicky located on the top blue line) and then choose "Miscellaneous" under that. Or, here is a link to it: Carefree Travel'r Manual. I believe the manual shows how it all goes together.

Yes I saw that. Just hopeful it's a common issue and easy to fix!

It won't be the easiest 1-person job, however, I can tell you that it IS possible. I would recommend letting it roll all the way back out and carefully trying to slip that end back over the tube. I did this a total of 3 times, installing a new LED strip light in mine. The last time, it nearly knocked me off the ladder and gave me a shiner. I believe there are two or three screws that insert from the end-cap into the awning tube that secure it all.

I was hoping that was the answer! The screws look like it will require a rivet tool.. Can I substitute since I don't have one?

I'm convinced that Jayco uses screws they find on the shop floor for stuff... -Nothing is ever the same...

I believe that is a square bit. You can probably pick up a set from a harbor freight for a buck or two, if you don't have any. -Otherwise, you might be able to use a similar sized self-tapping stainless.
