Ccc of the first Gen seneca

I have an 07 Seneca 34 ss. I'm considering upgrading from a 7000 # trailer to a 10.000# trailer. I know my gcgvw is 26000#. Just wondering if someone has scaled one of these units in the past and recall what the unit weight was. I have checked and do have a 10k hitch.

hmmmm my thinking is - are you going to be able to get a vehicle with a 22k GVWR so empty that it is running at 16k to be pulling 10k behind it?

Went through all this when we had our 08. Even talked to the Allison techs and the design Engineer at JAYCO. The only difference with the KODIAK having a 26,000 vs 30,000 was the 1000 MH trany and the 3000 trany and the parking pawl is the only difference between the two, gearing etc in both is identical. As long as you always use the parking brake on any grades you should be fine.

The owner's manual says overloading can result in sudden movement. In other words the parking pawl can break...

I think a trip to the scale - with what you have in it today is a good start.
