ceiling light cover removal

I have a 2014 Grayhawk 31 DS. The ceiling lights are a round glass? cover @ 5" around with led bulbs. We want to remove a couple of the bulbs as there are plenty of them, and they reflect into the TV. I tried to turn them some as that's the way to remove the covers on the smaller lights over the table. Can't budge them. Afraid to try to pry them loose as they could break. I'm getting old, but still have a good grip, but can't get them to budge as your just using your finger tips. Anyone ever remove the covers?
Help.

And thanks for the answer.

I think you may have the same thing we have. Had the same problem trying to get the glass lenses off to replace the halogen with LED's.
We have two large lights on either side of the skylight in the center of the room. They twist about a quarter turn and come down, and I had to really twist to get them to move. The ones over the dining table are also on either side of the skylight and they just pull straight down. I also thought they would break before they let go, but they came loose. There are 3 metal clips that grasp the glass lens.
That, like some other things, I think should be in the owners manual so owners would know how to replace the lamps.

To open do you twist counter clock ways?

If you are talking about the ones in the main ceiling, mine just pop out. There are 3 spring indents that grab a lip on the glass.

You have to pull them hard, I thought the were going to break myself the first time.

I had a 2013 31DS and the cover came off by turning counter clockwise, NOT straight down. They were NOT LED. My new Precept come off the same way and ARE LED.

That sounds like the fixtures in our 351RLTS. The glass fits mostly flush against the ceiling and is slightly domed. Ours came with halogen bulbs which I replaced with LED's. Removal was a slight CCW twist (less than 1/4 turn) and a couple of them were real tight and took some straining to get loose. We actually have 2 sizes of these lights. The larger ones are in the main living area and bedroom. The kitchen area and under counter has some of the smaller ones. As I recall there are 12 large and 5 or 6 of the smaller.
I used a rubber "jar opening gripper" to help with removing the tougher ones.

And keep your hand underneath after turning CCW. It might drop and shatter.

Well, I went to the "EXPERTS". Stopped into a Jayco dealer here in Mesa, and talked to the head guy to the service dept. He said they pull off, and it would take a pretty good pull to get the cover off.

Well, I should have listened to the real experts, the people on this forum. Pulling real hard rips the 3 screws out which holds the whole light assembly, while also breaking some of the glass. It , as noted here, you just need to do is turn it counterclockwise a little. There is a plastic tab that stocks out with a metal strip behind it to put some tension on the tab that holds the cover in place.

Part of the problem also is that the hole for the can allows no space for the metal strip to retract. Had to make a couple notches to fix that, and rotated the can so the 3 screws had a new place to screw into.

The cover barely stays in place now, so will try to get them to replace the broken one, at their cost. Keep your fingers crossed for me on that.

We have one in our new 31FK that apparently either the tabs or the fixture itself have some type of defect because the lens keeps falling out. That's why we have a two year warranty service contract :-)
