Ceiling vents

Can anyone tell me why all the ceiling vents in my 05 26SS Jayco.motorhome home?
Are they to be open at all times?

I think your first sentence is asking why is there so many vents in the ceiling of your MH. Simple answer; heat rises.

I installed a MaxAir vent cover, and I keep one vent open all the time, even in the winter. In the cool seasons (early spring / late fall) having a vent or window open allows the moisture in the air to escape, otherwise you will get condensation on windows and sometimes even walls. In the summer it seams to help keep the htt from being a hot house, when it is not in use.

Right now it is well below zero where my htt is stored and I have a vent open about 1 inch. The vent covers keep rain and snow off the covers and it tt can breath.

Vent Covers

We keep our vents open all the time: when the rig is stored, while we are traveling and at a CG (unless it is really cold I might close the one in the bedroom). You need vent covers to be able to do this; keeping the vents open allows for fresh air and minimizes moisture buildup to prevent mildew.

All our vents have vent covers also and stay open all the time.

I guess I went at this all wrong. There are six round what looks like vents (original) that I guess I don't know where they vent. They are attached to ceiling but do not go through the roof.
I agree, they probably should be left open.
Thanks for your time Bucket 2

Very close but the center has a disc that you turn to thread in to (close) or out to (open)

Jayco has the brochure from the 2005 Greyhawk in the website archive. The brochure mentions ducted A/C in the ceiling. Looking at those pictures, I'd say those are the ducted A/C vents. Instead of the louvered ones we have today, it looks like they open and close with that center post.

If you don't have louvered vents like the one pictured above, that'd be my guess.

The "screw in" vents are exactly what our 2002 Jay Flight had. I agre these are A/C vents

Those are air conditioning ducts, not vents I do believe.

Those vents are for your air conditioner duct system.

I usually open all the ducts once the rig has been brought to a comfortable level of coolness.

Air conditioning. They turn to open or close.
