Charging battery

I have a 2019 Melbourne-my question is:
If shore power supplies 110 and charges the house battery—-then I figure the generator does the same.
And, does the alternator charge both the chassis and house ( no shore power or generator)??
Thank you 🧐 (my manual seems to say both examples are true!)

Yep!

The converter is what charges the house battery when it gets 110 volts either from shore power or generator power. The alternator will charge both batteries when the engine is running provided the relay/solenoid that connects them together is good. I only mention that because mine failed.

I highly recommend all RVers carry a simple voltmeter because you will need it sooner or later. Put the voltmeter across the battery and verify the battery is receiving charging voltage which should be in the upper 13 or lower 14 volt range.

My coach does not charge the chassis battery when connected. It will charge the house battery just fine. I keep the RV on two trickle chargers when parked.
