Chassis air tank

Hello fellow Seneca owners, just had a question on the air tank behind cab on bottom. I assume this is for the air ride system. After starting rig this morning, air continues to come out of the valve at back of tank. I don’t normally hear this. The brakes pressure up ok, so I think they are fine. Has anyone experienced this? A bad relief valve or is this normal.

Not entirely sure what you are describing as a relief valve, but our Seneca has a auto condensate purge valve. It has leaked on us before, but they are designed to limit the amount of air to under what the compressor pumps.

Can you post a picture of where it is leaking?

Is this what you mean.
This is the auto moisture dump valve and it cycles each time the pressure differential occurs from the compressor and brakes cycling. It should only dump for a short period of time and you really should not notice it. If mine was leaking I would try to purge it manually. That might clean the seat out. Mine has frozen open in the winter but I installed an air dryer and that hasn't happened since. Click image for larger version

Thank you SloPoke and RVrrmont, that is it. How would you purge it manually?

Google bendix dv-2. They have a good description and service manual that should answer any questions. I have not tried to work on it.

Yep, a Bendix Drain valve

If you look at the bottom of it, it looks like a giant valve stem from a tire. With almost all of the air depleted from the tank, I (put safety goggles on) pushed open the valve and cleared a chunk of something that was holding the valve open. Has not leaked since.

Thank you SloPoke, your suggestion worked. Not much debris came out of Valve Stim, but it reseeding itself.
