Check those fittings!

Took a little overnighter Monday. Woke up, walked out and saw a puddle under the rear wheel with a steady drip.

That's right under the shower so I immediately assumed I had a leak in the shower someplace. Thankfully my more level-headed wife traced the drip back.

It ended up being a fitting way in the water works - the web of piping by the water pump, behind the valve panel. Not too bad to get to, not easy, but not too bad. I found the right fitting by laying down some dry paper towels under the pipes and waiting for the drip to land.

It was a new leak, so I can only surmise that the screw fitting worked it's way loose from the bumps and jars of a year of camping.

Anyway - the lesson for me was don't assume that if the factory fittings weren't leaking in the past, they won't in the future.

And - since I was in the Fix It mood, I went under the coach with a can of "Stuff" the spray urethane sealant. I found a half-dozen holes that weren't sealed up properly. Might be something for others to consider too!

I am having the same issue with my new Redhawk. Where is the web of piping you speak of?

I think it's going to vary from model to model. But in our Greyhawk, the valve control panel is: drivers side, back, 'basement' (storage door). There's a mass of pipes and the water pump is behind it. To get to it, I climb in the storage area and remove one wall that covers up the pump and pipes.

On our Greyhawk, it's the same way you access the water filter.

This is where our water pump and filter is on our Redhawk as well. I got tired of taking the screws out of that panel just to take a peak and make sure nothing was leaking so I added hinges to the door so now quick checks are much easier.

We were also battling the water connections on the water heater leaking under the kitchen counter and wanted to keep an eye on it as well without taking screws out all the time. I added a magnetic door catch in each corner and it's holding well and makes quick checks so much easier.
