Check Your 29MV Battery and Tray
I noticed recently that the area around the exterior of the battery compartment door on our 2018 29MV had a slight yellowing. I checked the battery and cleaned a little dirt off the top, but other than that, I didn't see anything that would have caused the discoloring. When I took the MH to the dealer for some other warranty work, I mentioned the yellowing, which they said they would check.
It turns out that when the battery slide trays were manufactured, there were some that were made incorrectly. On some (mine included), the rivets were installed from the bottom up, when they should have been installed from the top down. What this means is that when the battery is placed in the tray, the incorrectly installed rivets, with the sharp ends pointing up, are over time cutting small holes in the batteries, eventually causing the acid to slowly leak out, and in my case, discoloring the exterior.
This must be more than a one-time issue, as the service department knew what was happening when they saw it and immediately ordered a new slide tray and installed that with a new battery. They also had some special cleaner which removed the discoloration from the paint.
So, during your next preventative maintenance day, check your batteries for leaks.
