Checking air pressure in duallies on Melbourne 24L

I just noticed that my new Melbourne 24L dually hubcaps have three Phillips screws in them. Question is do I remove the screws to take the hubcaps off to check air pressure or is it not necessary?
I hate to try to pry one off and ruin it if the screws need to be removed.

I took my 2016 24K hub caps off within the first month that I bought it so it has been awhile since I looked at mine. With that said I do recall some screw heads but mine just popped off.

It is expensive but I bought valves made for the Sprinter Dually wheels that makes checking air pressure as easy as any other vehicle. It does take a special wheel balancer and extra knowledge to install and balance them properly though. Not every tire shop can or is willing to do the job right. Also you want to make sure they will jack the RV properly as well. They will say lifting all 4 rear tires at the same time with a jack under the differential pumpkin is ok but don't let them do it. There are safe jacking points listed in your owners manual. You cant rotating the tires with these valves as you would normally do without switching the valves as well. Most RV tires I am told are replaced due to age instead of wear but your mileage may be different.

Good luck

I have a 2017 sprinter chassis with a 2018 Melbourne 24L. The screws on the dually did not have to come off. The rims came off like a regular car rim. Not sure if 2019 is the same ? Good Luck with the Melbourne 24L !

I took our Melbourne 24M, 2017, to a truck tire outlet, where they installed metal valve stem extenders, making a tire-pressure check a 2-minute task.
They removed the hubcaps. The valve stem extenders protrude through holes in the caps.
Not everyone likes valve stem extenders. We have had no issues since installing them in our first RV 10 years ago..............
