Clarion VX401 in Melbourne 29D--Speakers?

Hi,
I have a Melbourne 29D w/ Clarion VX401 which is set up for standard definition DVD. To use Bluray, Roku and Apple TV, etc. and take advantage of surround speakers I assume I'll need to hook up the Jensen TV HDMI to an AVR and then somehow connect the speakers to the AVR. Otherwise, I'll only be using the TV's speakers. Any advice on this? Is the in motion satellite only connected to the TV?
Thanks,
Allan

No posts after several days. I'm thinking that the easiest and best thing is to start from scratch with an AVR and wireless speakers (or sound bar) and making HDMI connection between AVR and back of Jensen TV. Definite shortcoming in multimedia setup.
