Coach batteries

How many coach batteries should a 2012 melbourne 29ds have? It has a factory inverter.

Should the ceiling lights in a 2012 melbourne 29ds be dim when not plugged in?

How big is the battery tray? My guess is two, and the lights will be slightly dimmer when on battery and if real dim you have a low/weak battery

The tray has space for 2 batteries but only one there.

The lights very dim. The generator started from the battery. Didn't have outlet to plug in.

Do they get brighter when on geny? Could be a corroded connection from the battery to the fuse box. The geny wouldn't be affected since it has separate wiring to the battery.

The lights did brighten a little after starting the generator.

Should it have 2 batteries? The tray looks like it should have 2.

Thanks

Then your dim lights may be the bulbs themselves since the did brighten when the converter was charging (geny running). Who ever owned it before you may have used the wrong bulbs. I would add the extra battery, but it isn't an absolute necessity unless you're going to boondock.

There are several lights in the living area. Should they all be dim?

Would the rv have been equipped with 2 batteries from the factory?

Thanks again

Like Grumpy said - it's highly unlikely Jayco would have put TWO batteries in. You've got room for two, but Jayco only put one in.

Are ALL of the lights dim, or only some?

When you run the generator, are they brighter or the same?
How old is the battery? What's the date code?

All lights throughout the rv are dim.

The battery is new and supposedly the right size.

It took some time for the lights to brighten after starting the generator. I was unable plug the rv in to see how bright the lights would be.

I'm looking to purchase the rv.

Thanks for all the help.

I suspect that the battery was (or is) a bit low on charge. Not a big deal really. If you do purchase the RV, I would highly suggest to change out all the bulbs for LED bulbs as they are much brighter and use a lot less battery power (unless of course the rv already has LED's, I am not sure what year they became standard equipment).
