Control box for power step

Hi! The power step on my 2018 Greyhawk stoped working. There is power to the motor and the control box but the control box is making a constant clicking sound. Any idea if that’s a sign that the control box is bad?

Not 100% sure but I agree clicking out of the controller can't be good. I think mine is silent but since the whole step assembly makes so much noise, I guess I cannot be sure.

There is a Youtube video on how to actually test the controller. You need four wires and a 12V source. It's on my to-do list since my steps stopped working -- again.

Also not completely sure, but the clicking sound you hear may be a relay opening and closing when the stairs are wanting to go up/down. However, you did mention that the motor has 12 volts; my thinking would indicate that the 12 volts to the motor would be "bouncing" if a relay was chattering.

Add me to the list of step failure.

Power step appears to be stuck in a 180* out of sync issue. Our step goes out when I start the rig and retracts when the rig is shut off . Luckily i didn't hit anything going down the road but had to stop along the high way after a passer by notified me the steps where out. After i figured out what was going on I shut off the rig to retract the step then i unplugged the motor so i could continue down the road.

However on my return trip the steps would not work at all so i disconnected the linkage pushed hem in and tied them up with a ratchet strap to get home
