correct hose for Propane grill

I have a 2017 29MV, what is the correct hose to connect to the RV gas system to hook up gas grill? It looks like a quick connect?? We have a screw on that doesn't fit.

We ordered the wrong one initially but then ordered this one two years ago for our Jayco and it has been perfect ever since;

You want a "propane quick connect" hose or adapter. Amazon, Walmart, etc.

If you're familiar with the whole "low pressure side" issue when connecting a grill, and you have a compatible grill, then you're good to go.

If you're unfamiliar with this, then holler and we can explain what's going on and why you may need a special grill.

There's a few quick disconnects on the market, especially the older ones, and they are not interchangeable. The other end is standard a gas/propane 45 degree fitting.

If the grill was originally set up for the little canisters you will need to remove the regulator from the grill. You Tube has some videos to help you out

What it comes down to is that the gas pressure coming out of the quick connect is already *regulated* down to low.

The propane in the 20# BBQ tanks is under *high* pressure. So most grills have a built in regulator to drop it from high to low.

Low pressure (off the quick connect) into a grill with a regulator just doesn't work. You need a grill that comes without a regulator or you follow some youtube videos to remove it.

[ Or you buy something called an Extend-A-Stay which allows you to hook your grill up before the RV regulator.]

I've searched for 2 hours looking for a video to remove the regulator with no luck. Can you point me in the right direction?

Find one on your specific grill.

There are many on JOF and you can find companies that will sell you everything you need to accomplish it.

Link to google search for JOF forum exclusively"

https://cse.google.com/cse/publicurl...95:_douuy_o5dq

Enter: "convert grill to low pressure gas input"

Aces,

I would suggest going with one of the kits Gonzo linked to. Just make sure it’s compatible with your of the RoadTrip. I had looked into a kit myself, and thought there was a different kit depending on which regulator “version” you had. The original style regulator “clipped” on while the newer version I believe the regulator screwed on.

I didn’t watch the video, so maybe they talk about the differences in it.

Good luck!!!

X2

I got a complete kit from propanegear.com. It came with everything and it was easy to convert the grill.

I have the Coleman Road trip. My RV has the regulator already built into it. The hardest part was using a pair of vise grips’s to hold the Coleman Road trips small canister adapter so that you could unthread that coupling. Attach the coupling to the propane hose and you’re ready to go!

Propane grill hose

Not the cheapest place but camping world had all the stuff we needed! Wish I would have went with the longer connect hose. In the picture that's about as far away from my camper grill will go. Thanks

Guess I should have been more specific. I have a Road trip x-cursion which has a totally different setup than the other Road trips, so I'm still looking for how to bypass the regulator.

Several utube videos how to remove regulator on grill. I removed the one on my Weber works like a charm. No more green bottle of over priced propane! Yipee

Propanegear.com sells complete kits that provide a hose to connect to campers quick connect fittings and hardware to bypass your grills regulator. Includes easy to understand instructions as well...
