Couch, be-gone . . .
We recently purchased a 2016 Greyhawk 29MV. After a few thousand miles trying it out (first MH for us) we decided that the couch was not very useful. It's heavy, squeaks a lot, doesn't really work as a bed, and faces a door and kitchen cabinets. I removed it, converted the carriage bolts holding the couch into studs that now hold two "beams" on the floor. The three "joists" that connect the beams actually sit on the carpet but are attached to bottom of the floor, all of which covers the electrical junction box and seat belts. Now we have a "dance floor" that can easily be lifted up and out by removing 4 screws and can be used as we want. But for our upcoming trip across the U.S. I've made two axle holders that are screwed into the floor to securely hold our bicycles so that they can travel inside and be stored there without really changing the function of the room for us.
It would be easy to convert the space back to a couch, or a place to put a desk, or I've even thought piece of carpet and a rocking chair or swivel recliner would work well if we removed the bikes. We're also carrying a 225 cc Dual Sport Yamaha motorcycle on the rear hitch, so we have several options for travel away from the camping sites.
I need a few total hips and already have a total knee, so my bike is an electric Pedego Ridge Rider. Linda's is a fancy non-electric mountain bike, but she's in good shape to ride it.
