Crushed Generator Access Door

Hi folk. Newby RV owner and I’ve made my first mistake. I propped my generator door open while it was running, and later retracted the slide. Yea... Crushed it in the slide.

Now... Where would I obtain a new door? I’m 500 miles from home and would like to have it waiting for me there.

Thanks...

Your best bet would be to contact Jayco and/or your dealer.

It's going to have to be a dealer. JAYCO won't sell/ship to a customer.

That’s what I thought. Would you happen to know roundly what it would cost?

$64,000 question.......

Depends on how much the dealer marks it up over his cost, plus shipping.

If you're going to have the part shipped to you, make sure you plan for shipping times and check with place you're having it shipped to, ensure they will accept it for you if you're not there. We had a part shipped while we were in transit (stopping only for sleeping) , it arrived one day before us where we planned a 3 day stop.

I hope it works out and you get a nice fix. If the door of the generator is open, the unit will overheat. Just mentioning since your new and welcome.

You mean the door of the generator housing itself, and not the access door of the RV ??

The door attached to the body of the RV itself.

on the inside of the door should be a sticker that the manufacturer stuck on. it will show the size, details. take a pic of the sticker, send to your preferred jayco dealer, and have them order the part for you. the generator door on my new unit was bent so the dealer had jayco send a new one. I'll probably just hang on to it because the damage is not noticeable at all. post up a picture of your door.

Is but a scratch...🙄

I’ve already talked to the dealer and they’ve ordered it. Thanks for the advice!
