Cup Holders for Dinette Table
Desperately need to come up with a solution for cup holders for the dinette while traveling. I have 2, sometimes 3, kids that sit at the dinette during travel, that need a place to put a cup so that it doesn't going flying around as I drive.
My current thinking is to make 2 holes in the dinette table and insert "Poker Table" style (inset) cup holders into the holes (the cup holder sits below the surface of the table, but the lip of the holder is on top). My thought is to do that on the aisle end of the table (2 of them), and maybe on the wall side, as well. Only problem with the wall side is that since the poker table style holders sit below the surface of the table, these might interfere with the lowering of the table (Hit the support bar). But I'm sure I can work around that. This technique is invasive...as permanent holes would have to be made in the dinette table.
Another option is to use clip-on cup holders that clip (like a clothes pin) onto the edge of the table, but they seem much less secure.
I guess the question is...do I want to make permanent holes in my dinette table (which could also interfere with eating), or have something less sturdy like the clip-on, but which has no modification to the table?
So, I'm curious, is anyone doing anything like this, or have another solution?

Had you considered the "fold up" style of cup holders? The can go on the wall by the dinette, by the couch, by the bed, etc.
When folded up, they take up very little room. They are inexpensive, and come in MANY different styles.

Logans, how sturdy are those things? I've seen them around. Maybe a nice metal one vs. plastic? Do you use double sided tape, or screws? Screwing things in the walls makes me uneasy
Hoppers - Great feedback, thank you.

We used screws dipped in silicone sealer, AND double sided tape, if there was no stud or backer behind the wall. We've seen them made out of plastic, metal, and (in a boat store) teak wood. Here's one at Amazon:

Looks really nice, but expensive and doesn't expand for different size cups.
This is what we used on our boat:

Sturdy, and never spilled!
Enjoy!

I have several taped with the 3M Command strips I used 4 strips each to make them as sturdy as I could and 1 season with zero failures.

I have two "poker style" cup holders in mine. They work well and look good. I may add two more to the aisle side in the future, current two are on the window side. They are easy to clean and make it easy to clean the table by pulling them out.

My previous RV had the inset (poker style) cup holders installed in the table on the wall side. This was a factory install, not my mod and it worked without fail for the 7 years I owned the rig. I never thought twice about cup holders in that RV, they worked.

I got some stainless steel boat cup holders and drilled the holes. I have never looked back. It should have come from the factory that way.

Or provide each of them with a Hanskie for their soda or cup [just kidding].
Am knitting one for myself ... to hold my coffee cup on those cold cold mornings [not kidding]!
