Damage to my new 2018 Redhawk 26XD
Hello! I love my new 2018 Redhawk 26xd! It has black tinted windows, red trim , inverter and leveling jacks. It's a beauty and handles well even in the wind. I picked it up last Thursday from a dealer 2 hours north of me. Ends up I personally know the guy! I drove it home then took it 150 miles round trip to camp at a casino last night with a friend. I wanted to get used to what all the buttons do. When I got home I noticed something dragging on the ground and my black and gray water pipes were hanging and busted off from the main junction drain connector piece! I called my salesman and showed him the photos. He's like Where did you drive it?? I said home on interstate and interstate to the casino and back. He ordered me to send photos then called me back and said that they didn't do anything and it's my fault! I swore at him and hung up. I am now waiting for the owner to call me back. A friend of mine figured water was left and not drained then froze and broke these. That makes perfect sense! I bet the mechanics left water in them and didn't even drain those when winterizing. What are your thoughts? Should the dealer stand behind this? Everyone on my facebook thinks so. I hope he does stand behind it. Is this an expensive fix? Thanks! Danielle

If the rig was winterized there would have been anti-freeze in the tanks and in that pipe.
It's hard to see in the pic but it looks like the support bracket is possibly bent which would mean it got hit.

Swearing and then hanging up always works?
Doesn't it?
Let us know if it worked?

I have been in sales for over 20 years. I would never accuse the customer of doing the damage before investigating. The proper way to be professional is " I'm sorry that happened, why don't you please send some photos and we will figure out a solution." I only bought it 3 days ago. Very frustrating. I couldn't help but swear. Tune in next time, thanks Dad

I think the same thing. Looks like it took a hard hit, to break the pipes that way. Freezing wouldn't do that.
Maybe something flew up off the road (an alligator), or a big bump in the campsite? Maybe backed into a curb or parking block?

Sorry to see this, but the same thing happened to me when I had to go through a dip and it dragged. Not an expensive fix. All you need, by the looks of it, is a new Y piece. Then you will have to reassemble it and you are looking at about a half hour job. The part can be purchased for less than $20, as I recall. Somewhere along the line yours had to hit on something. The dealer should take care of you if there are no scrape marks on the part.

Right? When someone crawls under your skin it creates a instant reaction to swear with no filter. That's why my friends all love me! Lol...you crack me up

And two new valves unless the flanges come already on the "Y".

Folowing a cousin late one night into Michigan, in the dark, traveling on the interstate. Anyway I have a toll pass and he don't, so he had to stop and pay and play catch up. When he caught up he notice something was hanging from the rear of my RV. So we found a place to pull over and look, and it seams about 50 miles back my cousin shifted lanes to avoid some schredded tire(s) pieces in the road. And as I was following, I tried to stay behind, sorta close for better gas mileage don't ya know. He missed most (tore a cargo door latch off his rig) and I tore the rear stabilizer motor off. Strange is that I didn't see or hear or feel anything. And when I looked at it hanging I thought maybe happened from my driveway exit, earlier in the day. Using all my Navy skills, bubble gum, and baling wire. I got the temp fix done. It wasn't until the next day when we figured out how it possibly happened. No warranty coverage so I had to fix it myself. To this day it still makes a great camp fire story. And no I don't travel at night anymore, unless it an emergency. Good luck.

That would be my guess. It is easy to miss seeing something laying on the road and flip it up with a tire. A piece of tire tread can do a lot of damage.

On the interstate, I moved a little to close to an Orange Cone and caught it with the rear tire. It must've flipped into my drain pipe because I had similar damage. The black tank valve was broken.
Like others have said - not expensive to fix and not hard to do it yourself.
DIY - will be, what, $25? Maybe $50 tops?

Had similar with our 2017 RedHawk and repaired under warranty.. they hang too low. Dealer reinforced and raised it about an inch.

It will be easier to fix it yourself or call insurance company,, than it will be to get dealer to fix it. Just my experience,,that is why if you own a motorhome you have to be a good handyman...

Hmm
On our 2019 Redhawk, doing some early on extensive rut control under the unit I found our grey/black water connectors connector strap was not connected to the unit itself (actually, neither was the connector strap for the generator exhaust). Stuff happens when production is crappy.

1) If something was hit, you will see the damage from the blow/hit; 2) possible glue failure/ bad glue job at Factory; 3) (agree, more likely) freeze damage; 4) Close physical inspection of entire piping w/ additional pictures should be able to easily determine cause?
