Does anyone know what this is?

Hello,

Most of the finish on our 2015 Greyhawk 31FK is kind of dull. There is one patch that is shiny. I didn't think too much of it when we bought it used from the dealer because what I had read to look for was delamination. It isn't ripply. Didn't like it much we liked the unit so we bought it anyway.

Now that we are thinking of selling it. I expect someone will ask me about it. There is also these splotches on the bumper like strip.

Thanks,

John

Your finish looks like it's chalking and oxidized. If I had to guess, possibly a sealant / protection "package" was applied when purchased and for some reason that shiny section is all that's left. Possibly it's where they started applying it and got it thicker in that area.

The trim piece looks to be degrading from sun exposure if it won't clean up.

Or where the trailer was stored never really got much sun there…. Meaning that small section was always shaded by something.

Looks like someone made an attempt to wax it but discovered how long and hard it will be and stopped.

It is wax and polished in that spot. Try waxing and polishing in separate area and it will look the same

Thank you (all) so very much. Channelling SRV.

After reading these replies this morning I found a video where a guy showed the cleanup he did on his Cougar with Meguiar's 67.

Weather permitting, I know what I'm doing this weekend.

Regards,

John

Probably be easier to just remove the wax in that area and make it dull. Sure is shiny tho. Looks almost like clear coat.
