More details are needed such as your year, model, and options.
Is the filter under the kitchen sink or somewhere else, if you know?

On many Jayco motorhomes I have looked at that do not have a gravity fill port, the filter is directly after the external hose connection in the plumbing path. I am describing the models that have the valves to direct the water to the tank or fixtures, or to winterize or sanitize the system. In that type of arrangement (in the units I am familiar with) all the water coming in via that hose connection gets filtered whether it is going to fill the tank or directly to the fixtures. Once the water is in the tank and you are using your pump to supply your fixtures, the water does not again pass through the filter. One shot on the way in!

That is how the Senecas are plumbed and my friend's Greyhawk is exactly the same.

thanks, that is what I thought. filter location in the 2019 22j is in the most terrible place, so I plan to somehow bypass it

My Greyhawk the filter was up behind the sink had to be a contortion artist to get at it so I removed and placed it downstream from old position all water to kitchen sink goes thru it
