Dumb newbie ?: A place to look up places that provide oil changes

Hello everyone. What is the best resource for finding places that provide oil changes to our RV? (2022 Jayco Redhawk 26xD). Thanks!

Any repair place where it will fit. Some tire dealers. Truck repair shops.

If you have ever changed oil in a car, you can easily do it yourself. This is one of the easiest and cleanest oil change vehicles I have ever worked on.

This. After crawling under my Dodge Challenger (perfectly named), the amount of ground space makes the E series trucks a piece of cake to change the filter and oil yourself. However, if you are unable to do it yourself, then the above suggestions are excellent sources to consider.

I even saw a van from a service center come out to a campsite to change an TV's oil once. I'm assuming not all campgrounds may allow this though.

Exactly. The E-450 (as many have said) is an easy oil change and no different than a car (Actually way easier than some cars). So all about clearance

If you're planning on doing it yourself, you can go to Home Depot and get yourself one of those plastic pans to mix cement as a catch pan. You can use a large trash bag as a liner for the pan if you don't feel like washing it afterwards.

Once drained, use a plastic cup to scoop it into a used oil container as much as you can, then turn the trash bag liner inside out and drain the rest into the oil container and discard the bag.

The 7.3L takes 6 qts. of 5W-30 motor oil with oil filter change. Use Motorcraft FL820S oil filter. They're available at Walmart for under $5 (last year or so).

I change my RV oil too. I won't on the cars, but for the RV, I agree it's so easy. That said - there may be a few reasons why someone chooses not to.

I agree. Drove my redhawk up on legos on the front(flat ground). Needed a wrench, oil container to catch old oil and a funnel as far as tools go. 8qts of oil and a new filter from auto store. Just have a big enough surface to catch the oil, stream shoots out pretty far at first. Never changed oil in a car before either. Thought it was going to be hard. Ended up being ez mode.

My regular mechanic does all the work on my e450. He changes the fluids outside his garage. That is why I went with a class C. My mechanic told me he could/would do all mechanical work and he charges me his hourly rate which is cheaper than rv service ctrs...

And you can probably get an appointment within the current camping season. I used the service center where I bought, appoint was 2 months out. This was after 1st outing and warranty work. Lost 2 months of camping. this is why I DIY my own oil, I can do on my schedule

My local Ford dealer does my mechanic work on my Jayco 31DS. They service a lot of Ford trucks so they have a big bay for this type of work. Virginia has annual vehicle inspection requirements. So while I am getting the oil change, they do the state inspection also. They service anything that has to do with the Ford E-450 chassis.

Either way, keep receipts and take photos just in case there are any warranty issues in the future.

I would ask where you bought your rig from. Most RV dealers don't do that kind of work. I asked and they told me a couple of places they recommended and called them.
