Duracell AGM Batteries

My Harris batteries are already shot and I need to replace them. I’ve read all the threads and pros about using 6 volt batteries but there is not a Trojan dealer near me and I really don’t want to put a ton of money into batteries at this time. I came across Duracell AGM marine/RV batteries at Sams club for $130.00 each and was wondering if anyone has used them?

Looking for a 12-volt, group 27, agm battery as well. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'll be following this thread as I am preparing to replace mine, as well.
I could be mistaken, but it seems that I read that there could be charging issues with AGM battery chemistry and that lead-acid was actually better for my '14 Seneca and subsequently changed my mind to getting lead-acid 12V.
If someone knows this to be incorrect, could you point me to where the converter manufacturer states that AGM batts are compatible. I, too, am considering Duracell and want to make sure I get correct chemistry.

I'm changing my single 12 volt flooded battery to 2 each 6 volt Lifeline AGM batteries. My converter PD4060K has the 'charge wizard' function but does not have a setting for AGM, so I fired off an email to Lifeline asking if this converter is OK to use with their AGM batteries.

The charger specs:

Progressive Dynamics #PD4060K, 60 amps
BOOST Mode 14.4 Volts – Rapidly brings the RV battery up to 90% of full charge.
NORMAL Mode 13.6 Volts – Safely completes the charge.
STORAGE Mode 13.2 Volts – Maintains charge with minimal gassing or water loss.
EQUALIZATION Mode 14.4 Volts – Every 21 hours for a period of 15 minutes

Lifeline came back with "That charger is fine to use. In fact, it is the only converter that we recommend. The voltages fall right within our guidelines and the equalization for 15 minutes once a day is not a problem since the voltage stays at 14.4."

It is my understanding that some multi-stage chargers for flooded batteries have an Equalization mode at a much higher voltage. This may make them unsuitable for AGM batteries.

Bullitt6283 I read the progressive dynamics manual for my 2018 HJ and the manual did say AGMs were compatible neither the converter.

Duracell AGM batteries are made by East Penn and from their web site it looks like Deka is their house brand. I'm betting you could get the same quality from the Deka for a little less money. Here's the link to the East Penn web site.

Good luck.

After everything I think I am just going to go with 6 volt batteries. I was hoping to get away from the maintenance but it just makes more sense to use the 6 volt batteries overall.
