My vehicle is a 2016 Jayco Greyhawk 29MV with the Ford E450 chassis and the V10 gas motor.
The bolt I used is shown on the post just above here... p/n N808102 S437
The pulley I used is the same pulley that is mounted on the passenger-side of the motor. Pulley is (Motorcraft YS-385) #1L2Z-8678-AD.

I am new here. Saw this and I I think this is what I may have in my E450. I also heard the Ford torque converters slip and make noise.
Hopefully not a stupid question. How do you tell? Mine makes a little noise at about 60mph and it's right when it's about to shift.

Welcome to the Jayco Owners Forums (JOF). 
My suggestion would be to add the idler pulley and determine if the noise goes away. Adding the idler pulley is a good and not overly challenging modification to do anyway and if it doesn't help today, it will as the belt ages.
For mine, the sound \ vibration was around ~2000 rpm (+or- a few hundred) and I don't remember what mph that rpm relates to, but it wasn't the mph in particular as it is with the RPM.
I could also test this with being in Park and idling up the engine, you could try that as well and listen and feel for a vibration around ~2000 (check the earlier comments for rpm specifics). ~CA

Remember the valve tap sound in older cars when you needed higher octane? That’s exactly what mine sounded like before I installed the pulley. Sound is now gone.

One owner was able to video his belt and found that it setup a serpentine vibration ONLY at certain RPM range that coincided w/ the noise. That video maybe on youtube, not sure where I saw it?
I did finally install my driver side idler on my 1999; first purchase gave me the TORX bolt w/ wrong thread, Next correct HEX bolt w/ slightly smaller idler pulley, but I noted they BOTH use the same BEARING, so larger would just give a little extra tension? (1/8"-1/4" radius difference?)

Do the new Ford V8s have the same issue as the V10s where I (and I think most of us) added the pulley to stop the vibration which makes the noise?
"All 2021 Ford E Series models feature the same 7.3L naturally-aspirated gasoline V8 Ford Godzilla engine as the 2021 Ford Super Duty that replaces the previous 6.8L V10 Ford Modular engine (known as the "Triton" in Ford's truck lineup). "

So far I have not had any issues with this. We got ours back in April 2021 new and drove over 7k miles.

I'm late to the game, but I just bought a 2017 Greyhawk and the previous owner said he installed the missing pulley to correct the same noise as is being discussed here.

I think I'm getting this issue. Probably gonna have a mechanic check it out. It first only happend when I hit right around 55mph and it would be about to shift I would hear a little rattle then it would shift and stop. Now I hear a little when it's shifting from 2nd to third around 30 mph maybe.
I don't know what it is. Maybe mine is the torque converter issue vs belt?

I would try adding the additional pulley before taking it to a mechanic. The cost of the adding the pulley is probably less than having a mechanic to even look at it. If it doesn't work, you'll at least know that you've added a low cost upgrade and ruled out the belt as the cause.

It won't be hard at all. The belt can stay on, and will deflect easily enough to bolt the pulley on. The block should already be tapped out for the bolt, and it'll probably take you longer to get the tools out than install it. Many folks here have done it in mere minutes. Longer if they take time to drink coffee.

It's very simple. You deflect the belt in a Southwest direction just enough for the pulley to fit. The nub on the engine cover would hold the pulley in place while you get the bolt in and tighten it. It's that simple.
I'm not sure if you may have the air filter box/snorkel in your way. I did it on my Excursion V10, but the concept is the same. My class C RV is the 7.3L gas.

FYI: Mine a 1999 chassis E450SD/ 2000 coach and this (-S437 HEX-HEAD bolt) would work; had gotten by mistake (later model? that used TORX HEAD SHOULDER BOLT with larger diameter thread, that would NOT work. What I noticed between diff years PULLEYS was CENTER BEARING= SAME; where DIFFERENT between the two PULLEYS WAS OUTSIDE DIAMETER.

Another 3K trip all is well no noise at all , with only a belt change (no pully) Total miles on rig since the belt change about 20K

Here is the question I have. Hopefully not derail this post. If you were to add an additional pulley where the threaded bolt hole is to your right if your facing the engine, would the existing factory installed belt be to tight of a fit and go a tad larger or use existing factory spec belt?
