This is acrazy question but how does it not go back into the toilet? There must be a door or something that closes when you start the sprayer?

Before you turn on the hose to the black tank flush port, the black tank drain valve needs to be open to let it drain out.

Do you emply the black tank first and then turn on the sprayer?

Open the black tank valve then turn the water on.

I do it slightly differently than RPR. I'll dump the black tank, normally. Then I'll close the Black Tank Valve and run the sprayer for several minutes. Like three minutes.

After that, I'll re-open the Black Tank valve and let the contents drain. I'll often repeat this once or twice more, until I see the water coming out is clear(ish). I have a clear sewer hose connection near the end, so I can see the color of the water coming out.

After all of that, I'll open the gray tank to let the gray water flush and clean out the sewer hose.

I don't think it matters much. These clear sewer hose connectors are useful so you can see how clean the water is coming out.

One last thing I'll do is close the Black Valve, and run the sprayers for a minute or two. I leave the valve closed; I leave that water in the black tank. I prefer to always have some amount of water in my black tank.

Overflow from toilet??

So there is no way the water will back up and come out of the toilet? Is there a cover or something to prevent this? I would assume that if you ran the sprayer too long that would happen....

Too bad we do not have Ed Norton from the Jackie Gleason “The Honeymooners” to tell us the perfect way to handle the black tank flushing. You young guys may not know who I am talking about.

Yes - if you ran it for 20-30 minutes it sure as heck would fill up and come out. This has happened to others. Horrible mess.

The black tank is 20-30 gallons or so. It's going to take Many Minutes to fill that up with a garden hose. When you flush, don't walk away. Don't get distracted, don't "do something else".

Or just leave the valve open like RPR does.

Keep eye on the clear piece of your drain hose. If water stops flowing with black tank drain valve open turn water off like now. Something has clogged the drain.
