E450 cigarette lighter fuse

Does anyone know if the two cigarette lighters have seperate fuses and if so what spot is the passenger side fuse on. I can only find one listed in the diagram. My driver side lighter has power, passenger does not.

Under the hood on the drivers side there's a big box of fuses. I blew both fuses on mine just being a goofball. They're fuse numbers 67 and 72. I believe the numbers are located under the lid. If not, the layout is in your the truck manual that came with your RV. If you can't find the layout, I can email you the layout. They're low profile J case 20 amp fuses and run about $5 apiece.

Thanks Hopper

that was the solution I was looking for. 72 is labelled as cigarette lighter, 67 is labelled as power point.

Unfortunately when it went it also blew my Coleman Kool Kaddy so I have to repair that at the same time.

No luck at 67

72 was the driver side cigarette lighter... 67 does not appear to be the passenger side... Unless there is damage other then the fuse, I switched out the fuse and no luck.

Uh oh. I'm at a loss on that one unless, like you said, something else has gone south. That pretty much narrows it down to wiring or the power point connector.

Traded all the power point fuses

I traded out all the 20amp fuses in that row... No luck! Found a thread on FR Forum which also advised it should be 67... Think I might have a bad outlet. The 7.5amp glass fuse in my Coleman was badly damaged, the ends almost looked like when a battery corrodes. Fixed the Coleman but may leave the outlet for winter warranty work.

Just to throw some "did you try this" in the game....

Is it possible that the passenger side power socket is run off the ignition switch. The non-US makes I've owned do that with the cigarette lighter/poser sockets.

I've also run into some real peculiarities with ground wires on Fords.

Good thought Mike, but I know from experience that the outlet runs when the ignition is not on... I also know from experience that the cab battery does not charge while plugged in to shore power... Wanna guess how I know both these things

Guess #1: Let's see..... It was written in the owner's manual, on pages clearly marked "Power Socket Operation" and "Charging System Operation", respectively?

Guess #2: You said, "from experience" in your first sentence.

I'd still be double-checking Ford's 'better' idea of ground wires.

Had something to do with cold beers in my 12v plug-in cooler and a dead truck battery

I suspect you are right that wiring is the next logical solution... But removing the dash to get to that wiring is not a job I am up to doing on my own. And any videos I have found about repairing a cigarette lighter show the dash being opened up to do it.

On my 2003 F350, the on-dash accessory wiring isn't too tough to get at. Yanking the glove box and removing the place where an ash try might have been, helped. Lots of sharp metal under there, though. Be careful.

E450 Fuses

Just dealt with this now. #72 was the Passenger Side outlet #67 was the Drivers Side outlet. Got fuses at Chicagoland Ford Dealer for $5.80 each. They are officially Type A1S 20 Amp. In the process I also discovered I have a 3rd outlet inside the Glove Box !
