Electric setting on thermostat

We recently purchased a 2019 jayco 26Y and we are using the thermostat setting for propane to heat the coach. There is also a setting for electric heat also. Can I use this setting to heat the coach and not use propane or what?

Only if you have a Heat Pump and it will only be good down to about 40 or so.

It's the air-conditioner working in reverse. Beleive it or not it pulls heat from the outside cold air. Theoretically you can get heat out of cold air down to zero. Used in many houses, but effeciency declines around 30-32 degrees.

If you have an ac power source go ahead and check it out and let us know how it works.

We used to have a ac back in the old days with a heat strip installed. It worked ok too for chilly weather but not cold!

We used ours this past weekend at the Lake and it was great. Outside temperature was about 45* and the DW would not get out of bed until I turned it on.

I figure it was 'cheaper' in the long run to start the genny (even though it's propane too) and run the AC heater as opposed to the propane furnace.

Yes folks I've always been a miser.
