Electric trailer brakes

Has any one installed a trailer brake controller in a 2015 Precept 31ul ? I called the dealer and they told me good luck as the wire harness is next to impossible to find !

Update , the dealer is a dipstick , the wire harness is located on the left side of the steering wheel column right above the parking brake. It's a plug and play install. Tekonsha Prodigy p2 part # 90885 , quick connect harness # 3034-p

Are you using a brake controller instead of a Brake Buddy type system? If so, why? I'm curious. My dinghy is currently being set up with a Brake Buddy.

I'm pulling a 14' inclosed trailer w/ electric brakes. I don't know what a brake buddy is. Is that for towing a car ? I just finished up the install tonight and the brakes and all trailer lights work good. But I was wrong about the brake controller harness. Heres how this went down , the 3034p is for new ford pickup trucks. The f53 uses the older style harness and the part number is 3035 p. I hope this helps someone else out. Like I said in the first post , the RV dealer was clue less and told me that it would cost around $800.00 to have this done. I did it myself for under $200.00. It took me about 1/2 hour !

The Ford brake control harness is behind the coin holder. Pop coin holder from the top side. The harness is plugged into the coin holder.

Ahh, you are pulling a trailer behind your Precept, not a car. I was speaking of a car brake assist tool.

I don't see a coin holder in a 2015 precept 31ul. I found the factory harness hooked to the left side of the steering wheel colum behind the parking brake !

Let me know how your Precept pulls a car. I'm only pulling a trailer that weights about 2000 lbs.

Did you have to locate the blue wire that connects into the 7 way plug? If so were did you find it at. I am getting ready to install a break controller. Thanks for the info on the plug harness.

I have no idea. I can’t remember that far back. I sold the Precept and bought a 2018.5 Seneca. The best decision I ever made. Good luck to you.
