The way I found it in my F350 was using a signal tracer (for phone and house wiring) hooked to the electric brake feed at the 7 Pin connector.
Then probed under the dash for the best signal.

[Sheepishly]The Tacoma had it the manual.

Thanks everyone for your responses! I will trace it back from the rv socket tomorrow and see if the brake wire terminates under the chassis or actually makes it to the dash. Sure would be sweet if it did!

If the manufacturer bothered with the 7 pin connector and a trailer hitch, the 4 wires you need will probably be bundled together somewhere.

Like everything else, the bundle will be in the LAST place you look.

Do any of the F450 units come with the brake controller from the factory? Most F350 Pickups and F450's have them pre-installed from the factory. I hate having the after market controller hanging off of the dash somewhere.

Well. I am happy to report that my 2015 Seneca was prewired for the electric brake controller (not plug and play). For anyone interested the bare wire bundle located adjacent to the bundle directly over the accelerator is the wires for the controller. For some reason there are two blue wires for power to the brakes. You need only splice into one as they both go and come from the same tab on the RV socket.

Are they large blue wires, and smaller red wires?

Picture of what I have. I did not think these were the wires because of the size?

That's them! For some reason about a foot away from the 7 pin RV socket the blue trailer brake wires split into two blue wires. The solid red is the hot. The red/white is the brake signal and the last one is the ground.

They might have run two instead of a larger wire to be sure you get full power to the brakes since it is a fairly long run. I would connect both coming from the controller.
