Engine revving sound

when driving our 2015 Seneca (new to us a little over a year ago) at times we hear what sounds like the engine revving. The tach doesn't change so it is not like it is downshifting. Most of the time it is when we are pulling hills but sometimes it is on flat road. Any thoughts?

Fan kicking in. It does this when the cooling system temperature rises above 200F.

It will shut the fan down once it cools down.

2014 ts. First time mine did this (in 2014) pulling a hill and it down shifted and fan came on at same time told DW we blew trans, but we kept moving until I figured it out. 59,000 miles and I still jump sometimes when fan kicks on.

Welcome to the group. They are great units for what ever you want to get out of them.

Wait till you start up a steep hill from a stop in 100 degree weather . Between the engine winding up in low and the cooler fan running it can get pretty loud.

If you watch the water gauge on the left you can see the temperature rapidly drop when the fan comes on.
