External fridge fan inop
My 10 cf Norelco refrigerator has an external fan between the upper and lower vents. Have made multiple trips with some areas over 100 degrees and that fan never came on. These absorption fridges need all they help they can get especially in hotter weather so I finally got around to looking into the problem. Either the fixed thermostat that the fan was wired to has too high a value or it's broken. At any rate I jumped around the thermostat, added my own lower value thermostat in a different location, and put a switch in line with it so I can turn it off if the weather is cooler and I don't want to listen to the fan. I'd be curious if anyone else has had trouble with this fan.
BTW, if you're wondering why I just didn't get it fixed under warranty, I'm the kinda guy that would rather fix it or mod it myself if possible. The mod/fix I did was better than what any dealer would have done as I have more control over the fan.
