Angry Falling range hood

The range hood on my 29’ Entegra keeps coming loose on one side and hangs down especially when driving. It appears to be attached to a paper thin board underneath the microwave. I’ve tried screwing it back in place but the screws won’t hold. Any same or similars and suggestions?

Put an extra screw in the hole to keep it from shifting around.

[QUOTE=Jimmy Z;1057062]The range hood on my 29’ Entegra keeps coming loose on one side and hangs down especially when driving.

My first thought was to drop the range hood down and glue ( construction adhesive) a 3/16 or 1/4 inch piece of plywood in the space , then reattach the the range hood with the original screws. Not having a visual on this I’m not sure if it will interfere with the venting. Just a thought.

Thanks for the suggestions. First thought was to replace the screws with larger ones. Unfortunately, the board that the hood is fastened to is so thin it won’t hold even with bigger screws. Then I tried dropping the hood. To do so, I had to remove the microwave- a 2 person job. I wasn’t crazy about blindly sticking my hand behind the mw. I’ve now tried the construction glue suggestion. Very messy. I’ll let you know.

T

That was my initial plan but there’s not enough room between the top of the hood and the board it is mounted to.
