There is no service in your area if you cannot find channels. There is an option to “find” channels, if it can’t find over the air channels and no over the air service, your connection isn’t strong enough to get signal for what you want to watch…. No other way to get signal.

Just got my Entegra Esteem with 32 inch fire tv. I have been playing around with the wifi and am logged in under the house wifi.
I have not yet connected a cable to it but I think you go to settings, click on live tv, and they do a channel search while the cable is plugged in.
i get over 36 stations over the air.
