First big outing in the Seneca

Just returned from a weeklong, dry camping Thanksgiving get away with family and friends for some off roading. This is the first trip dry camping, second trip total since our purchase of the Seneca. Most of the issues with the Seneca have been resolved and I'm happy to say we had a blast.

The day we left we drove 500 miles in pouring rain, high winds and towing an 8000lb enclosed trailer with zero issues. The Freightliner chassis is awesome, stable on the road despite the winds and other big rigs. 40MPH winds our first night setting up camp with rain made for some excitement, but happy to state no leaks!

The country fill feature for adding additional water is nice, watching the 49ers Thanksgiving game outside was cool even though they gots destroyed, the generator is super quite, the heat pump A/C units worked great, the furnace kept the coach warm at night and finally figured the best setting on the tankless water heater.

With the rain, wind and dirt she was a bit filthy. Got up this morning and washed it all up and put her back in the garage. Hope you all gad a great Thanksgiving.

We are really enjoying our new Greyhawk and it's just right for us but I see those Seneca and say "that's a big boy toy!"

" ... we had a blast."

That's why we buy these things. Good for you.

"weeklong dry camping...with family and friends for some off-roading" That's pretty much my definition of fun, right there.

Quick question - what's the "country fill feature" you mentioned?

I currently have a Jayco Recon ZX toy hauler, but I'm looking at moving to a Seneca and just towing a trailer for the toys. I do more dry camping than anything else and one concern was the lower fresh water capacity. (71 gals vs. 142 gals)

Cheers,
Greg

Country Fill - allows sucking up water from storage containers (had four Aqua Tainers 7.5 gal each) for added capacity. Seneca doesn't have a fill tube to add fresh water, must use pressurized hose (city hookup) or country fill. Watching my buddies holding 7.5 gal jugs while trying to pour into a funnel as I turned on water pump! Pretty slick.
