First trip, 2019 Melbourne 24k

First trip to shake out the bugs! Couldn’t be happier. This is my sixth RV (second new one) and this has been by far the most trouble free first time out. I’ll have questions soon, but for now I’m just enjoying the ride.

Hi, saw this post and just wondered how you are doing with your new rig? We are strongly considering purchasing a Melbourne 24k 2019 and would love to hear your feedback now that you have had it a little while? Any problems with the accommodations or vehicle in general?

Really liking it Pka. Smooth ride, good mpg, comfortable, feels like a sports car after pulling a Jeep behind my 35 footer. This can fit (almost) in a regular parking space. I’ll only tow if I’m staying in one place for more than a week.

No serious negatives but a few things to consider;
—have to think about what you pack
—bed folds in so it’s hard (but not impossible) for wife to sleep in the back while traveling.
—dinette really should be swapped for recliners.
—no place (that I’ve found yet) for a dvd in the bedroom.
—will the 13,500 ac keep everything cool in hot climate?

All in all Im very happy with my trade. The few things I mention are not negatives, just mild issues to work out. Only adds to the fun!

One final note. My Thor class A was one problem after another. So far this Jayco has been absolutely trouble free. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

I normally don't like combo electronics but we got a TV for the bedroom with a built in DVD player. I also bought a mount that is easily removed so that we could watch TV outside as well. We really don't use it as much as I thought we would though.

13500btu AC works fine up front but the ducts in the bedroom don't offer much flow even with the front vents closed. We bought a small fan to blow some of the cool air to the back which works for us.

Good to hear about the a/c. My Thor a/c didn’t do the job for us so I bought the smallest portable a/c I could find and set it up in the bedroom. I haven’t measured yet but I’m thinking it would be a tight fit in the Jayco BR. Maybe a fan will do the trick, the Jayco is a considerably smaller space to cool.
Wish I had thought about a combo tv, I just installed my BR TV last week. The combo would have been better for us.

Thanks so much for the feedback!! We will probably be trading a 2016 Dynamax rev 24rb (Forest River) which has been a major headache with repairs and warranty issues that have not been repaired without a struggle! So we are really reluctant to get into another RV without adequate research.

Not yet. RecPro is the company I’m considering for the recliners. For a dollar (through Amazon) they will send swatches of the fabrics of their models. Ordering those is as far as I’ve gotten.
I’m also trying to determine how big a hassle the switch out will be and if I can secure the recliners and have seatbelts installed for safe transport of my grandkids.

We love ours. Almost at our 3-year anniversary and 32,000 miles. We go only in the summer but send 3-4 months traveling around from March (well, this year we're still snowed in) to the end of October. We already had the hook-up in the bedroom for a TV. We have a TV-DVD combo and have had no problems with it at all. They're cheap. Ours is a 19" and fits perfectly and is out of the way. Hope after 3 years you're as happy as we are.
