Floor care

Our new Jayco Precept 35UN has the looks like wood flooring. My wife is wondering what products to keep it nice and spiffy. She got a new vacuum that is made for hard floors and it does great picking up dirt and sand but she would like to know what else we need to keep it nice.

Thanks

First and foremost, look in the owner's manual or the little booklet from the flooring manufacturer.

After that, vacuum or sweep to remove the big pieces and as little water as practical to mop up the fine stuff.

Refinish as needed.

That's why I posted this thread - the OM does not mention wood and there is no booklet from the floor manufacturer in my packet. The OM does say how to care for linoleum flooring - is this what the Precept has, linoleum that looks like wood?

Sounds like you are saying the floor is real wood? Is it laminated wood or something that seems like wood?

Thanks for the reply

Open some cabinets that will get you past the edge of the flooring and examine it.

You can tell pretty quick if it is any kind of real wood, laminate or printed-on-foam.
My new 19?? has some gorgeous flagstone & mortar linoleum. It gets swept almost daily and I bought a damp Swiffer(r).

Plus, shoes are left OUTSIDE when we camp.

The floor is Vinyl, not wood.

If it's vinyl, you can use Mr Clean. DO NOT use Mop-N-Glo.

For a vinyl floor, it's hard to beat "Quick Shine" floor finish.

I sweep the whole trailer out really well, squirt the Quick Shine directly on the floor and mop it in with a standard sponge mop.

If it's really dirty, I'll go through with a standard mop solution of Pine Sol first.

I did this last year, and the floors are still pretty shiny; it's about time to do it again though.

Why not? Don't you like camping in a skating rink?
