front light bar

Someone else posted this first - and to them I say "THANK YOU!"

This is a 22" Curved model from Amazon. It throws out an AMAZING amount of light. It makes night driving so much safer. Yes, I know they're off-road only, but I flick 'em off when in traffic.

If there's any complaint it's that the vertical beam spread is too high for fog light usage. I had to aim mine way down to not totally blind oncoming cars. But the side-to-side illumination is wonderful.

So wide, I took my existing halogen fogs and aimed that way to the sides - so now I can make those dark turns into a campground drive without worrying about what I'm going to hit.

Two thumbs up for those of us with Old Eyes.

Can't find a 22" curved model on Amazon. Do you happen to have a link you could share?

That would get you written up in most states. No cover.
Can LED Light Bars Be Used On The Street
The short answer to this question is no. Due to their brightness, LED light bars cannot be in use while you drive on public roads. In fact, simply leaving them off isn’t enough in most states. An LED light cover must be used while the vehicle is driven on the highway. These covers ensure that the lights won’t create a distraction for oncoming drivers even if they’re accidentally switched on while driving.
They look nice, though.

How did you actually wire it in? A separate switch and indicator light on the dashboard somewhere?

Unless this is something new, as a past LEO, I would have to disagree. Neither of the states i worked in had anything pertaining to covers being required. Currently i see many vehicles with driving lights that don't have covers.

I tapped into the relay/harness/switch that came with the two other fog lights.

I have a similar set up on my pick up. and was going to do the same on our Greyhawk as well. But i opted to just change out the stock headlight bulbs instead and it that proved to be more than enough for us. The stock headlight bulbs are terrible.

these are the bulbs i used for the head lights made driving at night much better

Did you use these bulbs on your Greyhawk? Did you need the canbus for flickering?

A friend's kid put a light like this on his Jeep. He went out, that his first night that it was installed. In a rural area, flipped it on, to see how it worked. He said he saw no one in the area. Immediately he was pulled over. Was given a warning. Don't recall the details, but was told they were illegal to use on highways.

My post concerned covers being required, not usage on highways.

I the rural area where I reside in Northeastern British Columbia you are hard pressed to find a vehicle on the road that doesn't have a lightbar or two haha. The Police or Commercial Vehicle Enforcement officers never bother us. It's pretty much a given with the amount of travel we need to do sometimes and the wildlife we encounter that we use them. I travel an hour and a half each way for work everyday and 90% is through wilderness. They have saved me from countless collisions with wildlife.
