Furrion TV

Hoping to get some help and advise here.... We have a 2016 Greyhawk 31 FS with a 32 inch Furrion LED TV.

The TV is showing colored vertical lines. I read the T- Con board may need to be replaced?

Anyone else have the same issue? Does it make more sense to replace it than have it fixed?

The TV is out of warranty.

Any help/advise is appreciated!

Google says it could also be a loose wire in the TV, or loose cable. They say give the tv a whack in the back and see if that changes anything. On my 2017 31fs I found the wire on the back side of the input connector on the side of the rig was loose, and that solved a bad reception problem for me. Before I would replace it, open it up yourself you, might get a surprise and find a loose wire.

32" TV's are so cheap that I would buy a new one. Besides I wouldn't buy a Furrion product, or fix it unless it was under warranty.

Thanks for the reply! I am leaning towards a new replacement - Was told by Furrion that it is likely the T-Con board and they are not fixable or have replacement parts - I do have to say Furrion has been very responsive.

I saw this too and have tried but, did not work - in my case the vertical color lines are when we start the TV and just continue with a picture. Thanks!

I replaced both of my Furions with a smart TV in front and a TV DVD in the back.

The Jensen dash Nav/Radio/DVD is fine except the DVD is poo, so I put in a DVD player up front. Now wife can watch a chick flick while I watch man shows.

As noted, TV nowadays are not very good and with a smart TV, I can connect with Netflix, VUDU, Youtube using my phones hotspot (usually parks do not have enough band-width).

UPDATE: Found a T-Con board for the Furrion TV on Amazon - the cost for the board was $10.00 - expecting it to be delivered sometime next week - pretty easy to find and take out - will update this post once I receive it hoping it might help someone else - here's the part number....Vizio 6871L-3203K T-Con Board (6870C-0442B)

Have to agree just get a new one. Would pressure the dealer but at $120 I'd just get a new one. Replaced the garbage insignia with a garbage insignia with built in fire tv. If it last 2 seasons I'll be thrilled.

If it wasn't because I'm so "cheap" I would buy a new one but, $10 bucks to fix a TV I use about 5 times a year? and the thought of "fixing" sometime broken....priceless!

UPDATE:

Well the new T-Con board arrived ahead of schedule - couldn't wait to put it in to prove to myself I could fix this TV - guess what? it didn't work - I was so sure this was the fix and all for $10 bucks - just as I was about to give in I decided to check a couple of Y-Tube videos to see if anyone else had the same problem - I found one that absolutely made no sense what so ever - it involved pressing on a circuit board - I figured what do I have to lose and tried it - guess what? it worked! - to my amazement the picture came back clear as day - I was "playing" with it a bit and every time I let go of the pressure, it would go back to the problem - so I was able to put a strip of form so that when the cover was screwed back in, it would apply the necessary pressure to keep it working - yep! sounds unbelievable but, it's true - cost of repair...a $10 board I probably won't ever use - price....smile on my face and that extra pep in my step...priceless!

One less TV that stays out of the land fill!

Hope this helps someone out there.

Micro cracks in the circuit board.

Back in the day, my dad was a local TV repairman for over 30 years. He might replace a small part to repair the issue but while he was in there he usually re-soldered several dozen or even several hundred circuit board connections because they were bad about getting micro cracks from the heat cycling. There's no telling how much trouble he saved people

Keep it of the Dump

Congratulations for keeping the TV being a TV instead of throwing it out too early, I will remember this once mine will act up.
Good Travels.
