Garmin 770 Series Remote Programming?

Looking at Garmin RV 770 NA LMT-S. I know several of you are using the 770 series, can a route be planned on a computer and then downloaded to the Garmin? Not clear from what I can find online. Thanks

Following..…. I to want the newer 770 series Garmin….

I currently use "Google My Maps". You can develop individual personalized maps and then send it to a smart phone.

I have Streets and Trips from Microsoft that does great planning but, being an older no-longer-supported program, I can't download the route once done, but can print it out. That does help while traveling but you need a copilot to read it. Did find the manual for the 770 series and not finding anything about outside planning. They do have a smartphone app that sounds interesting but they don't indicate any planning/downloading from that either.

I believe that the 770 works with Garmin's Basecamp software but you may want to double-check with their support to confirm that. I recall hearing about some issues with the 770 when it first came out related to Basecamp. I'd like to think those have been addressed by now.

I'm still using an RV-660LMT which does work great with Basecamp. In my opinion Basecamp does have a little bit of a learning curve and I find that I still go back to Google Maps to double-check things on occasion. But I've got every trip we've taken over the last 5+ seasons stored in Basecamp and when we decide to repeat one it's just a simple download to the RV660 and off we go.

Thank you. Saw that but it sounded like a hiking/biking software and not for automotive trips/planning. Will take a look. Not sure how current it is, still lists "Vista" or later

I'm a Mac user () so can't comment about the Windows support. I know that earlier this year there was an update released for the Mac that moved it to 64-bit to avoid issues with OS X 10.15. I do think that they are continuing to develop it so I'd take a closer look.
