gas nozzle premature shut off

2018 E450 class C. I know I'm looking at a vent issue in my filler tube causing me problems filling my tank at the pump. I'm looking for experience at how to fix it or what exactly I may find. I've had trouble at several different locations so I know it isn't a pump issue.

Do you use gas additive?

Bought a used car once and it literally took me 15 mins to put 10 gallons in the car. So I tore into it....removed the filler tube thinking it was the vent tube... nope.... in the filler tube was the little foil piece from top of a gas additive bottle. Once foil removed and back together what took 15 minutes then took 3-4 mins.

Sometimes it helps to pull the nozzle back an inch or so, seems to help.

X2, at a former company we had a vehicle that you had to do that. Seemed like I was the only person that could fill the tank. Everyone always shoved the filler in as far as it would go.

My old company F450 chassis cab had a versalift bucket and body installed. It took FOREVER to fill that pig. I eventually figured out you could put the nozzle at the first setting and you had to use the nozzle upside down. Some gas pumps put out too much even at the slowest setting, so I just avoided those ones.

There were some Jayco's where the gas fill line was routed in a very strange way. If you search this forum you might find it. I stumbled upon it about a year ago.
If I remember right, the fill line kinked or something like that. Crawl under your rig and follow the fill line. You might find your problem there.

I have 2020 27U and have similar problem with some pumps. It has gotten so frustrating that I now keep set of Anderson levelers (had them from previous travel trailer) in storage bay and just pull up on them on drivers side rear and fill er up. Bit of pain - but works well.
