Generator Question

I have a Onan 4000 watt MicroQuiet generator in my 2014 Redhawk.
I have never had a problem with it until recently. I started it with the inside switch and it started right up and ran for about 15 seconds then stopped. Tried to crank again and it would not start. Went outside to generator compartment and opened, smelled strong gasoline smell and saw small gasoline leak from air filter housing. Took off housing and found small amount of gasoline in bottom of it. The filter also seemed to be wet with gas.
In a couple of days I tried to crank again and the same thing happened, started right up, ran for about 15 seconds and stopped. Found gas in air filter housing again.
Any opinions on what the problem may be.
Thanks

Sounds like a stuck carburetor float or stuck choke. The choke on my genset sticks open every time I run it and I haven't figured out why. Perhaps yours is sticking shut. The choke rod is the rod that disappears into a small pipe on top of the genset.
