Yep, the u-bolts are big and tight. We bought a 3 foot 3/4" torque wrench a few years back for removing/changing wheels on our motorhomes. The u-bolt torque is about 250 pounds. Same goes for tie rod ends.

The Safe-T-Plus is primarily for safety in case of a front tire blowout and although many owners report is making driving "better" the trac and sway bars will fix most handling issues of the Kodiak chassis. Along with a good set of shocks.

P.S. The correct socket for a torque wrench for wheel lug nuts is 30mm. And their torque is 450 pounds as printed on the Alcoa wheels.

I only had a 155# torque wrench, so that’s all she got :-)

I did paint with nail polish, so if it moves I’ll notice

I’ll follow up with a big boy torque wrench in the future.

We did the exact same thing for every nut we removed for upgrades-used some old white touch up paint. The DW might have some but I don't personally use nail polish.
Sorry, it's going to be a good day.

That rig is going to drive awesome after all these fit ups.

I have the Safe t Plus added as safety equipment not as a driving enhancement. There is an added benefit of better steering "feel", not sure if that is true on a kodiac but on the m2 you see less drift. I think of the safe t plus as an extra layer of safety, sort of like having pressure monitoring, not absolutely necessary but eliminates some potential issues. Depending on who you got it from you should be able to request the correct bracket.

Keep your progress notes coming, This time of year I have to live through others on this site, though the weather should be getting better and we can start back on the road soon.

safe travels

Thanks for the update -- I will probably add a rear trac bar as well.

Ultimately, I'll be towing a 28' enclosed aluminum trailer. That's a lot of distance and wind sail behind the rear axle. So everything I can do to lock it down and ease the driving experience is a must.

I also have a Equalizer tow hitch I will be using -- once I modify my trailer accordingly.

Since you asked :-)

I just do High Performance Driving Events with the White 911 RSR.
It's a fun car that tries to kill me, but so far it hasn't, but with all the fiberglass, my skill set isn't up to racing it.

The blue car is a Porsche Spec Boxster, I race that in Porsche's Club Racing series.

My first race in that car will be this weekend at my home track here in Austin at the Circuit of the Americas.

I'm hoping that is uneventful -- and if so my first road trip pulling the trailer with the Seneca will be to New Orleans later in March.

Wow, very nice, glad I asked.

Now you have the truck to go with the toys. You will feel pretty nice driving that set up around, get there in comfort ready to race.

Be safe and enjoy the ride.

I live less than 50 from Barbers and attend lots of events at the track. Would love to do the Porsche driving experience. Good luck
