Girard Tankless Water Heater

Hello Everyone....Hoping someone can help. I have a Girard Tankless Water Heater Model: GSWH-2 that I need some help with. The water heater will not turn on at the bathroom sink but, will at the shower and kitchen sink. Has anyone else experienced this? possible solutions? Thank you in advance!

Step 1. Rip it out of the wall and throw in trash.
Step 2. Buy a truma tankless.

But seriously check the screen in your faucet. If the girard doesn’t get enough flow it won’t turn on.

😆....Thanks for the giggle! Can't afford to replace so I'll check the screen. Thanks for the reply!

If the screen is not plugged, which it probably is not, it is most likely that the water diffuser does not flow enough water. Go to Home depot or another plumbing store and get one that flows 2 gal per minute or more. I had the same situation, changed it out and that solved the problem. It needed to flow enough water for the water heater to turn on.

Yes, sorry for the poor terminology !! Also, since the kitchen faucet flows hot water, remove the aerator from it and try it in the bathroom before buying another and possibly having to take it back. I am confident the change of aerators will do the trick.

Water flow volume is the key. If we use use the sink aerator, the water doesn't get as warm as when pressing the 'spray' button for the pull-out sprayer on the spout. Visually more water and Girard likes.

Make sure your hot and cold lines are not switched under the bathroom sink.

Just curious. Do you have normal cold water flow at the bathroom sink? I couldn’t get hot water either but my cold water pressure was just as bad as the hot. I tried all the recommended solutions and nothing worked until the faucet was replaced.

Yes....the cold water is normal flow. I really don't see a difference in the water flow pressure from either cold or hot. I suspect the faucet may need to be replaced. Going to wait till spring to do anything. Thanks!

I'm sure you've checked, but you're positive the water heater isn't firing up? You can hear it, or more accurately, not hear it start?
