Good Dealer/Jayco Stepped Up

Got a call from my dealer yesterday that there is a problem with the unit I ordered. It arrived last week, but while they were prepping it and filling it up with gas, they heard a grinding in the rear of the MH. The dealer immediately took it to the Ford dealer to have it looked at. Seems something is wrong with the rear pinion and they would need to order parts for it and make a fairly major repair. The dealership owner immediately called Jayco and told them that he would not sell this unit to his customer (me), and requested a new unit be sent. Jayco agreed and rerouted another unit to be sent to my dealer immediately. Frankly, I'm thrilled that both the dealer and Jayco responded in this manner, instead of trying to ditch a broken MH on me. Unit is arriving today and I pick it up tomorrow afternoon.

These are the stories (which are more the norm) that we usually never hear about. The complaints are what most people only post.

Thanks for sharing the "good news" and kudos to your dealer.

Agreed, had to post something positive. This is the 2nd camper I've purchased from this dealer. They know I'm a return customer

They'll ditch the one with a fixed rear end on someone else.

That's good to hear, you must have found a very good dealer, he is very rare, you don't always find that.

Hope you don't have to wait too much longer, but I am glad to hear you will be getting a unit with no known issues.

Why wouldn't they have the Ford dealer replace the axle under Ford warranty? Would be much quicker than waiting for a new rig.

They got me a new rig in less than 48 hours, so no big deal to me. It's snowing here, so other than excitement, I'm in no hurry. I think they want to get the sale done and it was going to be a while to order the parts and replace.

May go back to the factory for employee use and then get sold as a demo.

Wish my story with Jayco and the dealer would've had such a happy tale.

We had a similar experience. Ordered a 2014, but it showed up at the dealer so badly damaged that they refused to take delivery. Production was already shifting to the 2015 model year, and Jayco shipped a new one as soon as it came off the line. Took a month longer than we anticipated to finally get the TT, but given the weather, we probably wouldn't have used it anyway. It was a frustrating period, but in the long run worth the wait.
