Ok, might help if we had more to work with.
What RV?
What radio or head unit?

I had to pull front dash panel out and bend it just enough to access the wiring harness to the Sony head unit to find the wire. There is way supposedly to unhook the radio on the sides to remove it out of the dash, but I haven't figured it out. Don't need to now as I've done the modification to get it going.

Just for JYH818 info, if his unit has the quick release you mention. There will be two thin metal "tools" that slide down each side of the head unit and unhook it so that it will slide out. Not all of them have this feature and mine was secured with screws but the Kenwood replacement can be removed with the tools.
