Grey hawk 29MVP

My husband and I are considering buying a Greyhawk 29MPV. I would like to know if those of you that have one are happy with it. Have you had problems with it? Are the 2 11500 BTU a/c enough to cool the entire MH sufficiently? Is it a comfortable ride, or is it rough? Thanks for any info or advice you can offer.

I would suggest you locate one on a dealer lot and take it for a test drive. This way you can determine if the ride is comfortable or not, everyone is different. Every RV has some type of problem during the warranty period which will be repaired by the dealer.

We purchased the Greyhawk 29MV (not the MPV). I can tell you first hand that we sure could use the second AC. Roswell, NM fourth of July '17 was 117 degrees. That made it 90 plus in the coach. That second AC would probably allow the coach interior to be high 70's or low 80's.

It was hot .....

We love the ride comfort of the coach.

I'm thinking about buying the greyhawk 29mvp also. I test drove one and it drove fine except it was a little loose in the steering. But the unit looked good. I'll probably get the one with the Dual AC and larger refrigerator. It will be interesting to see what people who already bought one say about the unit.

We did test drive one and my husband said the same thing about the steering. However, we currently own a 25 foot Sunseeker on a Mercedes Benz chassis that has rack and pinion steering, so that’s what my husband is used to. I was impressed with how smooth the ride was on bumpy roads. The unit we are considering does have dual air conditioners and larger fridge.

We cyrrently own a 2017 hawk MV. No problems at all except for a hood graphic cracking,and fixed right away by the dealership.We live in the hudson valley in NY and the one air conditioner with the heat pump works out just fine for us The second ac was not available when we ordered.We have not been in the blistering heat as some describe on here but if i had a choice and was going to travel in the southern heat in the summer The second ac is a no brainer.The large fridge works out well for us.PLenty of inside storage,large roomy shower is great.The skylight is great for natural light in the living area.Wood work looks great.Drive train is powerfull,tow a jeep wrangler with no problem at all.
The only thing i had to get used to is the way it tracts down the road.Not like driving a silverado pickup truck.Once you get used to the way it drives its really all not bad.I usually keep it at around 62 mph and it works out well for me.I left it alone and did not do ant suspension modifications.Keep the air pressure in the tires where they belong.Some say a tire alignment may be necessary ???I'm ok the way it is.
Outside storage is adequate if you take what you need and not a lot of extra junk we seem to collect.
I think you will enjoy your hawk and the best of luck with it !

Just wondering how things work out with just one battery? We like to do a lot of dry camping and wanted to know if just having one battery significantly impacts that activity. I guess that's what having a generator is for in charging the batteries.

Jaytalk,Well to be honest we don't dry camp all that much so the one battery has'nt been an issue for us.When we traveled from ny to florida and stayed in rest stops we would use the generator in the morning to brew coffee,and we had the refrig. on the gas setting.The battery was charged all day when we traveled so when we used the lights for a short period at night all was well'I think the refridge' controlls run off the battery as well as the furnace controlls and blower .
I think you may be able to get by with one battery dry camping and using the genny but extra batteries sure would give you a cushion.Many on the forum have added extra batteries and it seemed to work out for them.Its great having the genny.....
So in a nutshell one battery works for our needs....hope this helped...

We dry camp in ours. Found that one battery especially the one that come with the unit was not enough. Would barely make it through the night if you had to run the furnace over night. I replace the original lead acid battery with a AGM sealed battery and added two more in the storage bay just behind the current battery bay. I also added 400 watts of solar and a 2000 watt inverter. we can now go easily over night (and multiple days/nights if we get good sunny days) running just about anything we want (except the A/C) without running the generator.

I recently picked up a 2018 Grey 31FS from rvone in Orlando. The first main drive was 8hrs back home to Atlanta. Before the FS, I had been pulling a 26BHS behind a Tundra with Equalizer hitch. Driving the 31FS is much different. As previously mentioned the steering feels loose on the FS. There is often correction on direction. In the truck I could stay straight, even with some wind in the truck and be fairly relaxed. Semis would push me around, but not much. On the FS, I keep both hands on the wheel almost all the time. There's no real 'cruising', ease of staying straight. The wind seems to have much more effect on direction. Going around Semis I need to turn into them a little to stay straight when coming up behind and pull back the other way after I pass them (they pull you in when you get close and then push you out when you get next to them). It seems like I push the Semis more as well as I can see them correct their path as I pass as well. I never noticed this while towing. The unit feels much wider, although its only about 4-5" wider, perhaps because outside forces move the vehicle around more. If there's no wind and no cars around, it will track straight. Any wind or cars and I need to adjust. I didn't have this issue towing a trailer. Perhaps once I load it down a little more with all the camping 'stuff' it won't be as bad. I'm still happy with the purchase, just very different to me than towing.

PS - rattling noises drive me crazy. There are plenty when you are in the motor home while driving. I've done a few short rides for various reasons and I think i fixed most of the loud clanking.
1) metal rack inside the oven; store it somewhere else
2) glass plate/turn table in microwave; store it somewhere else
3) metal range cover; put some pipe insulation around the edges it to keep from bouncing

Inflate the tires when cold to the recommended PSI on the door sticker, either check or have the front end alignment checked (typically 1/4" toe-in), and add a Safe-T-Plus - The Steering Control Specialists | Helping motorists' vehicles steer safer, less, and with peace of mind. in case of front tire blowout.

Most drivers will agree that with a Safe-T-Plus driving is more comfortable, and safer too.

One more question. What about the backup camera? It's a one piece that's fix and a part of the upper brake light. Seems like it would really limit your farther behind the rig, because it's fixed and can't be adjusted.
