Greyhawk 2018 29ME Awning Hitting Slide Cover

All,
Three weeks new to us Greyhawk 2018 29 ME. First overnight shakedown. So far only one issue, the passenger side slide and the awning (passenger side), plastic joints are rubbing against one another and prohibiting the proper extension of the slide. Whether the slide is extended first or second the awning is getting caught on the upper corner of the slide (passenger side).

Anyone else experienced the same issue?

If you leveled first try storing the jacks and then extending the slide. Could be the leveling of the coach is causing the problem.

If doing this allows you to extend the slide then just leave the slide extended re-level with jacks and enjoy. I would have the dealer look at it first chance you get. Probably the awning needs moved down a bit.

Wrong Toppers

I assume these are after market toppers? I would also bet they are Dometic or Solera brand which seems to be the only thing the dealers know how to install. The problem is those brands are not designed for zero clearance situations like the passenger side on the 29ME.

After tons of research, I just installed Carefree of Colorado toppers on my unit this week. Which probably does not help you today... The dealer needs to move your toppers forward so that they are not touching. Some models have at least some mobility within the brackets. Hopefully this is the case for you.

I would be tempted to go after the dealer that installed the toppers in the first place and have them replace them with a zero clearance unit.

Mine does the same. When the slide is out, the awning will catch and I have to either guide it or tap it and it continues to extend. Only real problem I have with this is that is ripping the slide corner trim.
